The AVR-3200 offers Dolby Digital AC-3, Pro-Logic and Surround Simulator support in the same high quality Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit that is used in Denon's top-of-the-line AVP-8000 A/V preamplifier. It features an easy-to-follow icon-based On-Screen Display.
The group of decoder parts which were accommodated in a single chip have been carefully selected out on independent chips. This significant development has following advantages:
The DDSC creates realistic surround sound, giving a feeling of being in a movie theater (Dolby Pro Logic), of being present at a stadium (Super Stadium surround mode) or the atmosphere of listening to jazz at a night club (Jazz Club surround mode).
However, the DDSC alone cannot create superior sound. The signal must not only pass through the decoder, but also through a variety of circuits. Denon uses an independent power supply for the microprocessor controller and gives careful thought to layout, avoiding problems which would otherwise adversely affect sound purity.
All six channels are digital, which means that they can be transferred without loss from the producer's mixing console to your home playback system. Dolby Digital AC-3 packs all six channels into less space than a single channel on a Compact Disc requiem. This advanced approach to coding digital audio data is what makes it possible for Dolby Digital AC-3 soundtracks to be added to conventional laser discs.
